Kickfund is a rarity in the Swiss VC world: we always co-invest alongside others; we give our portfolio companies freedom; we’re highly diversified; and, most importantly, our pipeline comes exclusively from the Venture Kick program. Thanks to this strategy, we already have the largest deep-tech portfolio in Switzerland, despite being in operation for less than two years.

Wanja started his VC career at Swisscom Ventures, and later he worked at MTIP as investment director. Wanja sat on a few startup boards as an active investor, but he also saw the value of simply co-investing. A good VC does much more than inject money: they make introductions and nurture relationships within the entire ecosystem. Kickfund is in a great position within the community to do this, so Wanja joined the new-born fund as CEO and managing partner in 2023.
